I have created this site as a personal resource database that I'm sharing with all the webs.
It's personal in that it's all the things I've either used to work through stuff myself or been interested in professionally. It is a way for me to *maybe* define my identity, to you, as a psychotherapist while also providing resources to clients.
Have you ever looked for a therapist and they have all these words to describe their therapy and you're like "huh?" You just want to know if they would have any idea about who YOU are, am I right?
If so, I hope this serves as an example of just some of the things I have experience with or understanding of. An example with examples, if you will, of all the things I'm into that you may be into, or need help with, too.
I have listened to, read, watched or otherwise consumed everything in here. I will not recommend it if I haven't.
My plan is to keep this growing and growing. Any suggestions? Click the little thingy below and email me.
My name is Ashlee, and I started this website in the summer of 2022 when I finally got a little case of the covid and had nothing better to do for a couple days. I was a grad student at the time, finishing up my MA in clinical mental health counseling and I wanted to create something that says something about where I am going as a psychotherapist. And so it is.
I am endlessly curious. I am always listening to something, reading something, or watching something to feed my curiosity of all things related to being in a body, on this earth, at this time. Like, who even are we and wtf are we doing here?
I am also an anatomy geek. If I could do any one thing other than what I'm doing right now, I would teach the anatomy of movement. It's not as random as it sounds, I used to teach anatomy pre-pandemic. I've also been a movement therapist for 15 or so years, so there's that. Reforming Movement is my movement therapy biz.
I have two adult daughters and they might be cooler than me. I live in Durham, NC with my partner and my dog. My side obsessions are interior design (I'll tear out your bathroom if you'll let me) and growing as much of our own food as I can.
Wanna talk sh*t with me? Email me, yo!
